AHL Game: 1005
Who: Manitoba Moose
Where: MTS Centre
When: 730 p.m. CDT (that’s 8:30 p.m. Wilkes-Barre time)
Media Kit
Last Game: This past Saturday in Abbotsford, the Pens suffered their first shootout loss of the year 5-4. Wilkes-Barre got two late period third period goals from Brett Sterling and Andrew Hutchinson to tie the game and earn the point. For Manitoba, this past Sunday in Houston against the Aeros, the Moose lost 6-3. Mario Bliznak had a goal and an assist.
Record: For WBS, 46-18-0-1 (93 pts., 1st place East Division) For MTB, 37-24-1-5 (80 pts., 1st place North Division)
Last Meeting: February 8 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens won 4-1. Ryan Craig and Keven Veilleux both had a goal and assist each.
Why you should care: This is one of the four games in hand Wilkes-Barre has on Hershey this week. The Bears are five points behind us and they say games in hand don’t mean anything if you don’t win them. Manitoba is glad to be home after an eleven game road trip. This will not be a gimmie game for Wilkes-Barre as the Moose are a very tough team from the North Division.Only three points separate the Moose from the third place Hamilton Bulldogs in the North and a guaranteed spot in the playoffs as it looks like the fifth place team from the West Division is crossing over. Both teams can ill afford to lose the game tonight.
