Ben Street Named Player of the Week

Announced today that Ben Street was named AHL Player of the Week today. Street was 2-6-8 with a +5 last week.

The league presser states that WBS is in first in the East and that the Penguins have the second best record in the entire AHL. If WBS doesn’t win and is say, third in the division, no way Street gets the Award. Regardless, congrats to Mr. Street.

Bombulie checked in today with a practice update. Out of this, Scott Munroe will start tomorrow. While Binghamton hasn’t named it’s starter, I would expect Mike McKenna to get the nod. Also, Colin McDonald and Dustin Jeffrey did not practice. I don’t know what to make out of Jeffrey not practicing. Initially, the word was WBS was getting Dustin’s services through the weekend. He did not play Saturday vs. Norfolk. I don’t think he plays tomorrow either so maybe he is here for the entire 14 days or until he gets his third game in, whichever comes first.

Also, Ryan Schnell is back from Wheeling. My thought on this one is you take him to New England as a spare and nothing else. Finally, Geoff Walker practiced but won’t be available tomorrow. I don’t think Walker makes the trip but Schnell and the previously recalled Matt Rust do.

Finally here is a nice article on Eric Tangradi from Dave Molinari from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Gameday for tomorrow’s game vs. Binghamton will be up at 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.

Let’s Go Pens!
