Last Game: This past Wednesday for the Penguins they lost in Norfolk 5-2. Nick Petersen figured in on both goals for the Pens, tallying two assists. For Portland: Last Saturday in Worcester the Pirates won 3-1. Matt Watkins had a goal and an assist.

Last Meeting: November 18 in Portland, the Pens lost in a shootout to the Pirates 3-2. Curtis McElhinney made 35 saves in the win for the Pirates and was named the games first star.

Why you should care: Penguins look to shake the funk they are currently undergoing at home versus the Pirates. They are without Robert Bortuzzo and Simon Despres who are on recall to Pittsburgh. Tonight’s game is not going to be easy against a very good Pirates team. Do the Pens have it in them?
