The Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins assigned Paul Thompson to the Wheeling Nailers today.

Thompson is a rookie out of University of New Hampshire. He played 20 games with WBS this season and was 3-4-7 and +6 with 6 PIMs.

With the recent emergence of Brandon DeFazio, Thompson found himself a scratch from time to time. Sending him to Wheeling is a logical choice. He will see game action and help the Nailers up front at the same time.

Also, some housecleaning from last night, Brandon DeFazio was indeed named first star of last night’s game with two goals and +2.

Gameday for today’s game vs. Norfolk will be up at it’s usual 3 p.m. start.
