MacIntyre Suspended Four Games

The AHL announced Tuesday afternoon the suspension of Wilkes-Barre / Scranton forward Steve MacIntyre. It’s four games.

As the release indicates, he will miss games Wednesday at Norfolk, Saturday vs. Worcester, Sunday vs. Binghamton and March 23 vs. Adirondack.

For those wondering, Wilkes-Barre hosts the Springfield Falcons on Sunday, March 25.

I think MacIntyre got off light. What message does it send that you could go after another teams goaltender not once, but twice in the same sequence and walk away with only a four game suspension? It’s a slap on the wrist.

In the grand scope of things, I don’t think we see MacIntyre the rest of the year for as long as WBS has a healthy enough forward corps. Bryan Lerg is day-to-day and with the news that Sidney Crosby is returning Thursday we could very well see Eric Tangradi sooner rather than later.

Finally, I owe Steve MacIntyre a basket of cheer or something because there has been a lot of traffic to the blog these last couple of days. I got a mention on Yahoo’s Puck Daddy for the Sunday Postgame wrapup and my homemade video of the fight went viral on Twitter. For that, I say welcome new readers and thanks for visiting.

Gameday for tomorrow’s showdown on Hampton Roads vs. the Norfolk Admirals will be up Wednesday at 3.

Let’s Go Pens!
