Last Game: Tuesday at home against Hartford, the Penguins won 3-2. The win snapped a brief two game losing streak the Penguins had brought with them into that game. For Hershey, the Bears last played on New Years Eve at home against the Providence Bruins and lost 4-1. Zach Sanford scored the lone Bears goal.

Last Meeting: Oskar Sundqvist’s four goals propelled the Penguins to a 6-2 win on home ice on December 10.

Record: For WBS: 22-7-3-0 (47 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) — For HER: 18-7-5-2 (43 pts., 4th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: First of two this weekend between these two sides. Hershey is the more rested team with about a week in between games and the Penguins come in after nearly blowing a 3-0 lead to a last place Hartford team. Both teams being extremely well coached are going to want to get the jump on the other.

Last Game: Saturday in Binghamton, despite putting up 46 shots at Chris Driedger, they lost 3-2. Jake Guentzel scored a third period power play goal but got no closer. For Hartford, the Wolf Pack hosted the Albany Devils on Saturday and lost 3-1. Nicklas Jensen scored the only goal for Hartford in the loss.

Last Meeting: December 14 in Hartford, the Pens won 6-2. Six different Penguins found the back of the net for Wilkes-Barre. The aforementioned Nicklas Jensen scored one of the two goals for the Wolf Pack in the losing effort.

Record: For WBS: 21-7-3-0 (45 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) — For HFD: 11-17-3-1 (26 pts., 8th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Penguins need to get back to their winning ways against the last place Hartford Wolf Pack. They have some reinforcements down from Pittsburgh in the form of Tristan Jarry, who should get the start tonight and David Warsofsky and Chad Ruhwedel. If not, their lead on the division may be in jeopardy.

Last Game: Last night at home against Providence, the Pens lost 5-2. The loss snapped a seven game winning streak for the Penguins. For Binghamton, the Senators were in Syracuse and beat the Crunch in a shootout 3-2. Chris Driedger denied all callers in the shootout round.

Last Meeting: This past Monday in Binghamton, the Penguins overpowered the Senators in the third period, scoring two goals en route to a 5-4 win. Jake Guentzel continued his tear, with two goals and an assist. Casey DeSmith improved to 8-0-2 at the time.

Record: 21-6-3-0 (45 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) — For BNG: 12-17-2-1 (27 pts., 7th place North Division)

Why you should care: Penguins need a bounce back win to close out 2016 this evening in Binghamton. Don’t expect the Senators to hand it to them especially with the way things went down this past Monday for the B-Sens.

Why you should care: Penguins will need another strong effort tonight in the comforts of home against a rested Springfield team which did not play last night. There may be some roster shuffling tonight keeping players who did not play fresh also.

Last Game: Saturday, December 17 at home against Springfield, the Pens won 4-2. The Penguins complete a span of six games in nine days where they win five of them. Fifth straight win for the Penguins. Oskar Sundqvist and David Warsofsky scored goals for the Pens in the win. For Binghamton, the Senators were in Albany last Wednesday and lost 7-1. Jack Rodewald scored the only goal for the B-Sens in the loss.

Last Meeting: November 4 in Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins won 4-1. Tom Kostopoulos and Garrett Wilson both had a goal and an assist each in the game.

Record: 19-5-3-0 (41 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) — For BNG: 10-16-2-1 (23 pts., 8th place North Division)

Why you should care: Trap game for the Penguins coming out of a long Christmas break. The first place Penguins have a lot of teams in hot pursuit of first place in the Atlantic while Binghamton has toiled at the bottom of the North for much of the season. The Penguins cannot take the Senators for granted or else.

Record: For WBS: 18-5-3-0 (39 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) — For SPR: 11-9-3-2 (27 pts., 6th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Seems like the Pens are beating everyone these days, but they have yet to beat the Thunderbirds. Wilkes-Barre will need their best if they want to get to the Christmas break with five wins in a row.

Last Game: Wednesday in Hartford, the Pens cruised to a 6-2 victory. Dominik Simon had four assists, the power play clicked twice. For Rochester, the Amerks hosted and defeated the Toronto Marlies 5-2. Nick Baptiste had a hat trick. Dan Catenacci set him up for all three goals and had three assists.

Record: For WBS: 17-5-3-0 (37 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) — For RCH: 10-15-0-1 (21 pts., 6th place North Division)

Why you should care: Second trap game in a week for Wilkes-Barre that should thoroughly thrash this listless Rochester Americans team which was swept out of Pennsylvania last time they were here last weekend. Expect Rochester to get up for this game and if the Penguins aren’t ready, they may end up getting upset.
