Why You Should Care: Two teams coming off of bad weekends meet tonight in Hartford. Hartford were stopped by a resurgent Checkers team and the Penguins were set back by in state rivals Hershey and Lehigh Valley. Does Jordy Bellerive come back tonight? What type of Penguins team do we see tonight?

Why You Should Care: Penguins need a good effort here in front of what likely is going to be a sold out crowd against the Phantoms who are awful on the road. vs.

Who: Binghamton Devils

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: Saturday at home against Bridgeport, the Penguins lost 3-2 in a shootout. Joseph Blandisi and Jake Lucchini scored goals for the Penguins in the loss. Referees: Jake Rekucki / Rob Hennessey

Linesmen: Tom DellaFranco / Ryan Knapp

Why You Should Care: This Devils team is good and cannot be underestimated, they are 7-3 in their last ten and something like 15-5 in their last 20. They, like the Penguins, are looking to solidify themselves as a playoff team in the wide open North Division. Penguins need a response after the very average performance Saturday against Bridgeport. How will they respond?

Listen: Nick Hart on the call on WILK.

Watch: AHLTV is back for another season and better than ever.

Other Game to Watch: Springfield and Hartford play their rubber match in this three game in season series against the two tonight in the Connecticut capital.

vs.

Who: Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: last Saturday in Charlotte, the Penguins got a big goal late by Thomas DiPauli and beat the Charlotte Checkers 4-2. Emil Larmi made 24 saves to pick up the win in goal. For Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms lost in Hartford 4-2. The Phantoms have only won four road games all season.

Last Meeting: December 27 at home, the Penguins won 4-2. Anthony Angello had a hat trick, Andrew Agozzino had three assists. Both players were recalled to Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Record: For WBS: 22-16-3-4 (51 pts., 6th place Atlantic Division) // For LV: 18-21-1-5 (42 pts., 7th place Atlantic Division)

Referees: Jim Curtin / Sean MacFarlane

Linesmen: Ben O’Quinn / Patrick Dapuzzo

Why You Should Care: Penguins need to keep the run going they had where they picked up 9 of 12 points on the road since they were last home against a Phantoms team who have only won four games on the road all season to stay on Charlotte and Springfield for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic.

Listen: Nick Hart on the call on WILK.

Watch: AHLTV is back for another season and better than ever.

Promotion(s): It’s another EYEWITNESS NEWS FAN FRIDAY when the Hershey Bears visit the Mohegan Sun Arena.  Lower bowl tickets are available for just $15, grab select draft beers for just $2 from 6:00-7:30pm, and enjoy post game autographs from a pair of Penguins players. GAMEDAY: @ Charlotte 1/25

Who: Charlotte Checkers

Where: Bojangles’ Coliseum

When: 6:00 p.m.

Last Game / Last Meeting: Last night in Charlotte, the Penguins won 5-4. Cole Cassels figured into every single goal, scoring two and assisting on three others. David Warsofsky also had a big game, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on two others. Charlotte’s Eetu Luostarinen had a goal and an assist for the Checkers in the loss

Record: For WBS: 21-16-3-4 (49 pts., 6th place Atlantic Division) // For CHA: 24-15-3-0 (51 pts., 4th place Atlantic Division)

Referees: Corey Syvret / Jason Williams

Linesmen: Tyson Baker / Tim Lyons

Why You Should Care: Wilkes-Barer can, with help from out of town, get to fourth place in the Atlantic with a win tonight and tie the Checkers in points. But before you count points you don’t have, the Penguins need to take care of business again here against the Checkers. Don’t expect another five point night from Cole Cassels, but expect the Penguins to play a similar style to what they had going last night.

Listen: Nick Hart on the call on WILK.

Watch: AHLTV is back for another season and better than ever.

Other Game to Watch: That, “help from out of town” I was talking about earlier involves the Bridgeport Sound Tigers beating the Springfield Thunderbirds.

Next Five Games: vs. LV 1/31, vs. BRI 2/1, vs. BNG 2/5, vs. HER 2/7, vs. LV 2/8
