RAPID RECAP – Pens WIN 5-1

A hat trick for Daniel Sprong with an assist, 27 saves from Anthony Peters and the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins close out 2017 on home ice with a 5-1 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Lots to get to in this one. Full piece in a bit.

RAPID RECAP – Pens LOSE 3-2

Penguins are a third period lead slip away from them with the Phantoms scoring two goals on odd plays.

The loss by the Penguins and the win by the Phantoms will have the two teams swap third and fourth.

Teddy Blueger and Ryan Haggerty scored for the Penguins. More in a bit.

RAPID RECAP – Pens WIN 4-3 (OT)

Wild one here in Wilkes-Barre in a hotly contested affair between the Penguins and Binghamton Devils.

Pens go up 2-0 in the first to see Binghamton rattle off three goals and lead 3-2 after the first. All of them were bad goals.

No scoring in the second, Jarrett Burton scores on a fluke goal in the third to force overtime

Teddy Blueger redirects a pass by J-S Dea to win the game for the Penguins 4-3.

Michael Leighton started and picked up the win.

RAPID RECAP – Pens LOSE 2-1

Wilkes-Barre’s free fall continues. A 2-1 setback to the Charlotte Checkers tonight.

Officials losing control of the third period will mask a slow start for the Pens in which they only had four shots on goal.

Charlotte got two goals in the second. Daniel Sprong scored a power play goal in the third to cut it to one, but after that the game revolves into a penalty fest.

More in a bit, Jarred Tinordi left in the third after blocking a shot and didn’t return.

RAPID RECAP – Pens LOSE 5-2

Bounces. Puck luck. Sometimes you have to have it and tonight the Penguins didn’t. Anthony Peters started in goal, had a pretty good game for himself all things considered but the Pens didn’t clean up in front and it cost them a hole they couldn’t dig out of. They drop this one 5-2.

RAPID RECAP – Pens WIN 5-4 (OT)

Pens get a hat trick from Garrett Wilson in the first period, Milwaukee goaltender Jusse Saros keeps his team in the game through the second and third period, the Admirals tie it late in the third and J-S Dea scores to win it in overtime.

Colin Stevens started, looked shaky at times, but overall played well enough for his team to get the two pow its needed to break the two game losing streak they were on.

More in a bit, including a player who was a surprising scratch tonight.

RAPID RECAP – Pens LOSE 4-3

Styles make fights?

The Syracuse Crunch took it to the WBS Penguins for a two game series here on Thanksgiving weekend and swept the AHL’s best team. They won again tonight 4-3.

Pens seemed to have the momentum taken away from them tonight on the power play. Whenever they would get one, it would be a fire drill of errors. Syracuse easily killed it.

Cassette DeSmith loses back to back games. I’d love to know if that is his first time losing back to back games.
