Chirps from Center Ice

Not much brewing in the WBS world, still nothing from the Pens on the Dec 30 game in Pittsburgh, stay tuned.

There are other teams in the league, and the ones in the East Division have made the most noise of late. So here it is:

• The Syracuse Crunch unveiled throwback jerseys.
• In case you needed more reasons to dislike the Bears if you are a Pens fan or otherwise, they have quite the empire.*
• The Binghamton Senators are going retro too. I made them an offer they couldn’t refuse.
• In all seriousness, there may be an officiating problem.
• The AHL tells me they are revamping its mobile site. This is great for me because I cannot find an iPhone app which has AHL scores.

I will not be live tweeting Pens Rookie Tournament. Simply, I cannot find anywhere where it will be broadcast. Stick with Eric P at the Wilkes-Blog, Pittsburgh’s twitter feed, Bombulie’s blog and me. Although I will probably be re-tweeting all of the aforementioned. If you find a feed, let me know. Comment section is open.

We are a go for the AHL Previews. Depending on how interesting Tom Grace is in the booster club meeting Monday night, it could be Monday or it could be Tuesday. Expect a quick blurb from me here on the blog Monday evening.

*- Hershey has done a ton for getting exposure for the AHL. Whether you love ’em or hate ’em. John Walton and company have done a TON to get the Bears noticed. Having Hershey win year in and year out only helps. Am I going soft? Am I a Bears fan in disguise? Hell no. But I have to appreciate what they have built in Central Pennsylvania.
