Chirps from Center Ice

A fan blog about the AHL's Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins

Weekend Wrap 12/11

Three things directly affecting the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins happened Sunday:

–> Jason Williams was returned from Pittsburgh. This could be a cap thing or, Jordan Staal and / or Sidney Crosby are ready to play Tuesday.

–> Peter Merth was returned to the Wheeling Nailers today and played today for them and ended +2. The Nailers won the game 4-2 over the Reading Royals. The Nailers are atop their division. The Merth demotion probably means that Joey Mormina is going to play Tuesday.

–> Hershey doubled up Norfolk 6-3 this afternoon. The Penguins, Bears and Admirals are tied at the top of the East Division with 33 points. The Penguins and Bears have the same percentage points and same wins. I think the tiebreaker here is season series.

If there are more moves Monday, we’ll blog about it. If not, Gameday will be up here on the blog for the game vs. Binghamton at 3 p.m.

Let’s Go Pens!
