Took an early lunch from the office today and made it up to Coal Street for the back end of the first day of training camp. Practice is a whole different animal for me, because I will openly admit to having no idea what I am watching. I suppose with time, I would get the hang of it.
Anyway, I have a bunch of pictures and things to share today, so after the jump if you will please…

Let’s get to the news of the day first.
–> Wheeling re-signed their leading scorer Chris Barton today. Barton moonlighted briefly with Wilkes-Barre last season. My Offseason Moves list has been updated accordingly.
–> John Curry, yes, that John Curry of 103 regular season wins in a Wilkes-Barre / Scranton sweater is back stateside with the Houston Aeros in training camp.
–> Another name is in camp with the Aeros which is familiar with Penguins fans and that is Nick Petersen. Here’s the link to their roster.
–> While at training camp today, I asked broadcaster Tom Grace if all four preseason games would be heard on the radio. He told me all but this Wednesday’s game in Rochester would be. The Sports Centre at MCC does not have an ISDN line, therefore no radio broadcast. I am not planning to go to Rochester for the game, so I am hoping that Mike O’Brien is and will be tweeting the action from there.
–> Here’s Bombulie’s blog recap from today and a quote from Eric Tangradi which I found interesting regarding the strength of the Penguins lineup:
“We’re going to be scary good. If we can put all the pieces together, Hynsie’s an unbelievable coach. If we can just listen to his plan, I’m sure he knows what will help us succeed. It’s going to be something special.”
Special indeed.
Alright. Onto the really bad pictures:

This is Keven Veilleux working with Bill Guerin. From my untrained eyes, Keven did not appear to be showing any ill effects after last years season ending knee injury.
