When: 7:05 p.m. EST

Last Game: For WBS: Last Sunday in Syracuse. the Pens won 5-3. Rookie Nick Petersen set a team record with five assists in one game. For HER: This past Saturday in Norfolk the Bears won 5-4. Defenseman Patrick McNeill had a goal and two assists and was a +3.

Record: For WBS, 56-20-0-1 (113 pts., 1st place East Division) — For HER, 45-24-3-5 (98 pts., 2nd place East Division)

Last Meeting: March 27 in Hershey the Pens won in overtime 3-2 to clinch the East Division. Bryan Lerg netted the game winning overtime goal.

Why you should care: The Road to the 2010-2011 Calder Cup is coming through Wilkes-Barre this year. The Bears have won it eleven times including the past two years. This could be a preview of the East Division Final. Or, it could be more like an exhibition game with both teams cemented in their spots in the division. Regardless, Pens / Bears on a Friday night in the AHL is always fun.

AHL Game: 1145

Who: Syracuse Crunch

Where: Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter

When: 3:00 p.m. EST

Last Game: For WBS: Last night at home vs. Rochester, the Pens won in overtime 4-3. Geoff Walker netted the game winning goal in overtime. For SYR: Last night in Glens Falls vs. the Adirondack Phantoms, the Crunch were shut out 3-0.

Record: For WBS,  55-20-0-1 (111 pts., 1st place East Division) – For SYR, 32-37-3-4 (71 pts., 6th place East Division)

Last Meeting: February 5 in Syracuse the Crunch won 4-2. Nick Bonino had two goals and was named the games first star for Syracuse.

Why you should care: Syracuse is another team that has nothing left to play for but has been playing some insipred hockey as of recent. The Crunch have been a thorn in the side of the Penguins all year and are one of the few teams we have a losing record against (2-3) – the Pens have wrapped up home ice throughout the playoffs so does it really matter? The team wants you to believe it does. So relax and enjoy this one this afternoon to see what the Penguins have.

AHL Game: 1139

Who: Rochester Americans

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m. EST

Media Kit

Last Game: Last night at home vs. Charlotte, the Pens won 6-3. Corey Potter had a goal and an assist and was a +3. For Rochester, the Americans hosted the Manitoba Moose last night and won 4-1. Mike Kostka had a goal and an assist and was a +2.

Record: For WBS, 54-20-0-1 (109 pts., 1st place East Division)  — For RCH, 31-36-4-4 (70 pts., 7th place North Division)

Last Meeting: November 27 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens won 4-3. Dustin Jeffrey had a goal and an assist and was +2 and was the games first star.

Why you should care: Rochester has nothing to play for at this point so the Americans are looking to upset the Pens tonight. The Pens can clinch home ice throughout the playoffs tonight with a win. It’s a sellout crowd on a Saturday night too.

Home Game 37

AHL Game: 1125

Who: Charlotte Checkers

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m. EST

Media Kit

Last Game: For WBS: Wednesday in Norfolk the Pens won 4-3 Brett Sterling scored two power play goals. For CHA: This past Sunday at home the Checkers won 8-2. Zac Dalpe had two goals and an assist while Zach Boychuk had a goal and two assists in the win.

Last Meeting: March 20 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens got to win 50 of the season in a 2-1 win over the Checkers. Brad Thiessen made 25 saves on 26 shots.

Record: For WBS, 53-20-0-1 (107 pts., 1st place East Division) For CHA, 41-25-2-7 (91 pts., 3rd place East Division)

Why you should care: Still looking like these two teams could very well play in the first round of the playoffs. Charlotte, much like Norfolk on Wednesday, is locked in a three way battle with the Admirals, Bears and Senators for second in the East. Whether Charlotte has the goaltending necessary to carry them to home ice first round remains to be seen.

AHL Game: 1109

Who: Norfolk Admirals

Where: Norfolk Scope

When: 7:15 p.m. EST

Media Kit

Last Game: The Pens wrapped up the East Division Championship this past Sunday in a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over the Hershey Bears in Hershey. Bryan Lerg scored the shorthanded game winner. For NOR: This past Sunday in Charlotte, the Admirals lost 8-2. Mike Angelidis and Paul Szczechura scored the goals for the Admirals in the loss.

Last Meeting: February 26 in Wilkes-Barre the Pens won in a shootout that went 11 rounds. Ben Street had a goal and an assist in the comeback victory.

Record: For WBS, 52-20-0-1 (105 pts., 1st place East Division) — For NOR, 37-21-8-6 (88 pts., 4th place East Division)

Why you should care: Norfolk is locked in a four team battle with the Bears, Checkers and Senators for second place. The teams are only separated by 7 points. With Wilkes-Barre having wrapped up the East Division and Norfolk coming off an 8-2 drubbing at the hands of the Checkers look for an up tempo game this evening from the Admirals side.

Last Game: For WBS: Last night in Glens Falls, the Pens lost 3-2. Ben Street and Bryan Lerg score for the Pens in the loss. For HER: The Bears won 7-4 last night at home vs. Albany in a wild game which saw a delay of over an hour due to ice issues.

Record: For WBS, 51-21-0-1 (103 pts., 1st place East Division) — For HER, 43-24-2-5 (93 pts., 2nd place East Division)

Last Meeting: March 6 in Hershey the Pens won 4-1. Ryan Craig scored two goals.

Why you should care: Pens can’t lose three in a row, can they? Who is starting in goal? John Curry, three games in a row this weekend or Patrick Killeen? Killeen is an untested rookie up from Wheeling. Does he oppose Todd Ford because Nolan Schaefer started the two games this weekend?

Why you should care: The Penguins are coming off of a bad loss in Binghamton and want to get back to what have given them success all season. Look for Patrick Killeen to get his first ever start in net tonight for the Penguins with Brad Thiessen up in Pittsburgh still on recall.
