Last Game: For WBS: Tuesday vs. the Connecticut Whale the Pens lost 5-2. Andrew Hutchinson assisted on both goals and was a +1 and was named the games third star. For ABB: This past Sunday @ the Houston Aeros the Heat won 5-4. Five different Heat players scored for Abbotsford including Ales Kotalik who netted the game winning goal.

Last Meeting: Back on December 17 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens won 5-2. Eric Tangradi had two goals for the Penguins in the win.

Record: For WBS, 45-18-0-0 (90 pts., 1st place East Division) — For ABB, 31-25-4-5 (71 pts., 5th place North Division)

Why you should care: Penguins start the longest road trip in franchise history all the way of in British Columbia tonight against a hungry Heat team which is looking to get back into the playoff race in the North Division. The Heat are four points out of a guaranteed playoff spot. Nothing is going to come easy tonight for Wilkes-Barre. Look for Brad Thiessen to start against Leland Irving who is second in the AHL in wins with 26 behind only Thiessen with 27.

Last Game: For WBS: Sunday in Hershey, the Pens beat the Hershey Bears 4-1. Ryan Craig had two goals. For CT: This past Sunday in Worcester, the Whale beat the Sharks 7-2. Brodie Dupont had 4 assists, Wade Redden had 2 goals and Pavel Velentenko had a goal, an assist and was a +4.

Last Meeting: January 16 in Hartford, the Whale won 6-3. Chad Kolarik for the Whale had 2 goals and 2 assists. Ryan Craig for the Pens was a -5.

Record: For WBS,  45-17-0-0 (90 pts., 1st place East Division) – For CT, 31-24-2-6 (70 pts., 3rd place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: The last time these two teams met, it wasn’t close. The Whale are a big, bad team. This game could get out of hand quickly if the Pens don’t look out. The Whale are locked in a deep sea battle with the Worcester Sharks for the last guaranteed playoff spot. They are in town as of last night. Should be a great game tonight.

Why you should care: Two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference going at it in this late afternoon tilt. Potential playoff preview? Pens are coming off a tough loss Friday and the Bears are now right on the doorstep. Should be a great one this afternoon.

Why you should care: Penguins look to continue their dominance of out of division opponents North of the Border tonight in the Big Smoke. With the news that Eric Tangradi and Nick Johnson not being available the rest of the year, this Penguin team you see tonight will be the Penguins at 100%.

Last Game: For WBS: Last night at home vs. Norfolk, the Pens won in a shootout 3-2. Joey Haddad had the game winning goal in the 11th round of the shootout and was named the games first star. For Springy: Last night at home vs. the Portland Pirates, the Falcons won 4-1. Blue Jackets prospect Nikita Filatov had a goal and an assist and was named the games first star.

Record: For WBS, 43-16-0-0 (86 pts., 1st place East Division) — For SPR, 30-26-1-3 (64 pts., 3rd place Atlantic Division)

Last Meeting: Back on November 28 in Springfield, the Pens won 4-2. Late game heroics by Nick Johnson, Dustin Jeffrey and Bryan Lerg in the form of goals secured the victory for the Pens.

Why you should care: Coming off of a huge comeback win last night, the Pens are just looking to finish off another weekend in the AHL with a sweep and continue their winning ways. Springfield is on the rise in the Atlantic, they have to win this game to stay ahead of fourth place in the division, because it looks like a team from the East is crossing over this Spring.

Last Game: This past Wednesday in Binghamton the Pens lost 4-1. Despite putting 48 shots on net, only Bryan Lerg was able to score. For NOR: Last night home vs. the Charlotte Checkers, the Admirals won in a shootout 4-3. Ex-Pen Marc-Antoine Pouliot had two goals and a goal in the shootout and was the first star of the game.

Last Meeting: Last Saturday in Norfolk, the Pens won in a shootout 2-1. It was a gritty defensive battle, with Ben Street scoring late in the third. A last second turnover by David Marshall would force overtime, but Brad Thiessen denied all Norfolk shooters in the shootout to seal the victory.

Record: For WBS, 42-16-0-0 (84 pts., 1st place East Division) — For NOR, 28-17-8-4 (68 pts., 5th place East Division)

Why you should care: Pens had a bad game this past Wednesday and they knew it. Help from Pittsburgh has arrived in the form of Brett Sterling, Tim Wallace and Ryan Craig. Norfolk is slipping at a critical time of the season. They have to come into a sold out Mohegan Sun Arena tonight after bussing in from Norfolk late last night and take on the leagues best team coming off a poor performance in Binghamton. I love these types of games because both teams need to win for their psyche.

Last Game: For WBS: Saturday in Norfolk the Pens won 2-1 in a shootout. Brad Thiessen stopped all four Norfolk shooters in the shootout. For BNG: This past Saturday at home vs. the Albany Devils, the Senators won 4-3 in overtime. Mike Hoffman had the overtime game winner for the B-Sens at 4:59 of the five minute overtime.

Record: For WBS, 42-15-0-0 (84 pts., 1st place East Division) For BNG, 30-20-3-3 (66 pts., 4th place East Division)

Last Meeting: January 29 in Binghamton, the Pens lost 2-1. Nick Johnson had the lone goal for the Pens in defeat.

Why you should care: This game has “AHL Game of the Week” written all over it. Both teams, decimated by call-ups to their parent teams, refusing to lose. What happens when an unstoppable force meets and immovable object? I think we find out tonight in Binghamton. Binghamton is bonafide one of the top three teams in the East right now despite the standings position. They have given the Pens fits all season. What happens tonight? I cannot wait to find out.
