Who: Syracuse Crunch

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

Last Game / Last Meeting: Last night in Syracuse, the Pens lost 5-2. Syracuse jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, the Penguins got goals from Colin Smith and Dominik Simon but couldn’t score to tie it on a late 5:00 major power play and their 12 game winning streak ended in Syracuse last night. Louis Domingue stopped 23 of 25 for the win, Syracuse’s first back to back of the season.

Record: For WBS: 12-3-0-1 (25 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For SYR: 6-9-1-2 (15 pts., 7th place North Division)

Referee(s): Pierre Lambert / Tyler Puddifant

Linesmen: Jason Mandroc / Jud Ritter

Why You Should Care: Revenge against the team that ended the 12 game point streak for your favorite team. Expect a refocused Penguin team ready to go from the drop of the puck tonight,

Other Game to Watch: Rochester smoked Binghamton last night 10-3. The two teams rematch tonight in Binghamton. There could be fireworks.

Who: Syracuse Crunch

Where: Onondaga County War Memorial Arena

When: 7:00 p.m.

Last Game: Wednesday at home against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Penguins won 4-2. Ryan Haggerty scored two goals. For Syracuse, they hosted the Rochester Americans Wednesday and won in overtime 6-5. Dennis Yan scored in overtime to gibe the Crunch the win.

Last Meeting: October 15 in Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins won 6-1. Six different Penguins scored in the contest and Casey DeSmith stopped 24 of 25 shots to pick up the win.

Record: For WBS: 12-2-0-1 (25 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For SYR: 5-9-1-2 (13 pts., 7th place North Division)

Referee(s): Corey Syvret / Troy Paterson

Linesmen: Tory Carissimo / Andy Petrus

Why You Should Care: Best team in the AHL against one of the worst tonight. Statistically, at least, but you know Syracuse is going to get up for this one after a nice overtime win over the Rochester Americans on Wednesday. Penguins  just need to go out and keep things simple against the Crunch and should find success tonight.

Other Game to Watch: Springfield has been a hot team of late. They beat Hershey Wednesday 2-1 and now face the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in Allentown. This is a potential trap game for the Phantoms.

Next Five Games: SYR 11/25, MIL 12/1, RCH 12/2, @ HER 12/3, @ LV 12/6

GAMEDAY: vs. Lehigh Valley 11/22

vs.

Who: Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: Friday in Binghamton, the Penguins won 4-3. Christian Thomas scored the game winning goal in the third period after returning from Finland after playing in the Karjala Cup. For Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms were in Laval, QC for a meeting with the Rocket and won 5-2. The Phantoms struck three times on the power play.

Last Meeting: A classic back on November 3 saw the Penguins win in a shootout 6-5. Ryan Haggerty scored twice and Garrett Wilson had two assists. Christian Thomas scored the only goal in the shootout round between the two teams.

Record: For WBS: 11-2-0-1 (23 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For LV: 10-5-0-2 (22 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division)

Referee(s): Peter Schlittenhardt / Pierre Lambert

Linesmen: Tom DellaFranco / Luke Murray

Why You Should Care: Can these two replicate that thriller on November 3? Penguins have points in eleven straight. Can they make it 12 in a row? The Phantoms will be getting up for this game and the Penguins better be ready to match Lehigh Valley’s intensity.

Promotion(s): None

Other Game to Watch: Springfield visits Hershey and the Thunderbirds are on the rise, winning three of their last four, so this should be an interesting matchup.

Who: Binghamton Devils

Where: Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: Sunday in Hershey, the Penguins scored five goals on just thirteen shots on goal and throttled the Hershey Bears 5-1. Casey DeSmith was named first star of the game stopping 31 of 32 Bears shots. Daniel Sprong and Zach-Aston Reese both collected goals as well. For Binghamton, the Devils were shutout by the Rochester Americans in Rochester on Wednesday 3-0. The Devils have not scored a goal in 109:01

Record: For WBS: 10-2-0-1 (21 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For BNG: 5-7-1-0 (11 pts., 5th place North Division)

Referee(s): Terry Koharski / Michael Sheehan

Linesmen: Matt Brady / J.P. Waleski

Why You Should Care: The Penguins have one game on the schedule this weekend and this is it. Binghamton hasn’t scored in over 100 minutes and are at home. Expect a fired up Devils team. The Penguins will need to match that intensity if they want to win the week in what is sure to be a tough environment in Binghamton.

Other Game to Watch: Resurgent Hershey visits Providence for a pair of games this weekend, starting tonight in the Rhode Island Capital.

Next Five Games: LV 11/22, @ SYR 11/24, SYR 11/25, MIL 12/1, RCH 12/2

Who: Hershey Bears

Where: Giant Center

When: 5:05 p.m.

Last Game: Last night at home against Providence, Ryan Haggerty scored the game winning goal :20 into overtime as the Penguins came from an 0-2 deficit to defeat the Providence Bruins 4-3. For Hershey, the Bears pounded the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 6-1. Mathias Bau scored two goals and was named first star. Pheonix Copley stopped 24 of 25 shots.

Last Meeting: Last Sunday in Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins lost in a shootout 3-2. Daniel Sprong and Zach Aston-Reese both scored for the Penguins. Wayne Simpson scored a regulation goal and the only goal in the shootout.

Record: For WBS: 9-2-0-1 (19 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For HER: 6-6-0-2 (14 pts., 5th place Atlantice Division)

Referee(s): Brandon Blandina / David Banfield

Linesmen: Bob Goodman / Luke Murray

Why You Should Care: Penguins go for points in ten straight games today in Hershey and have 17 out of a possible 18 points coming in. That one point missing? Belongs to the Bears, last Sunday when they took the Pens down in a shootout. Hershey has points in six of their last seven games.

Other Game to Watch: Milwaukee travels to Chicago in a Central Division matchup.

Next Five Games: @ BNG 11/17, LV 11/22, @ SYR 11/24, SYR 11/25, MIL 12/1

GAMEDAY: vs. Providence 11/11

vs.

Who: Providence Bruins

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: Wednesday at home against Toronto, the Penguins won 4-2 in a thriller of a game that featured the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. It was the Penguins skating away with the two points, 4-2, off goals from Thomas DiPauli (two goals) Andrey Pedan (his first) and Ryan Haggerty (his fifth goal in four games) — For Providence, the Bruins last skated Sunday in Bridgeport and were shutout for the second time in the weekend by the Sound Tigers.

Record: For WBS: 8-2-0-1 (17 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For PRO: 7-4-0-0 (14 pts., 4th place Atlantic Division)

Referee(s): Andrew Howard / Ben O’Quinn

Linesmen: Jason Mandroc / J.P. Waleski

Why You Should Care: Both teams did not play Friday, so fatigue is not an issue for either team. The Penguins will look to exact some revenge on the Bruins who ousted them from the playoffs last season in the first round. Should be another great game, like Wednesday was when the Marlies were in.

Promotion(s): Veterans Day / Penguins Team Card Strip #1

Other Game to Watch: Lehigh Valley travels to Hershey, in a matchup that the Penguins should be watching closely.

Next Five Games: @ HER 11/12, @ BNG 11/17, LV 11/22, @ SYR 11/24, SYR 11/25

GAMEDAY: vs. Toronto 11/8

vs.

Who: Toronto Marlies

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: Sunday at home against Hershey, the Penguins lost 3-2 in a shootout. Zach Aston-Reese and Daniel Sprong scored goals for the Penguins in the loss. For Toronto, the Marlies beat the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Sunday by a score of 5-1. Trevor Moore scored two goals and Calvin Pickard stopped 35 of 36 shots.

Record: For WBS: 7-2-0-1 (15 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division) // For TOR: 9-3-0-0 (18 pts., 1st place North Division)

Referee(s): Furman South / Chris Waterstradt

Linesmen: Jud Ritter / Matt McNulty

Why You Should Care: Biggest test of this young season lies ahead for the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins tonight against the Toronto Marlies. The Marlies are about as complete a team tha you are going to find in the AHL. The Penguins will need to be almost perfect tonight in all areas if they want to come home with the two points.

Promotion(s): None

Other Game to Watch: For a Wednesday, a very busy day in the AHL with three games having been played already this morning. I like the North Division match up between the Binghamton Devils and the Belleville Senators this evening in Ontario.

Next Five Games: PRO 11/11, @ HER 11/12, @ BNG 11/17, LV 11/22, @ SYR 11/24
