Last Game: Last night at home against the Providence Bruins, the Pens lost 3-1. Carter Rowney scored the only goal for the Pens in the loss. For Hershey, the Bears sewed up the Atlantic Division championship with a win against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms by a score of 4-2. Ex-Penguin Zach Sill had a goal and an assist in the win for the Bears.

Last Meeting: Last Sunday in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens lost 5-3. Will O’Neill assisted in all three goals.

Record: For WBS: 43-27-4-1 (91 pts., 3rd place Atlantic Division) — For HER: 42-21-5-7 (96 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: The Penguins still have home ice to play for against the Providence Bruins. A Penguins win coupled with a P-Bruins regulation loss sews it up. The question is whether the Hershey Bears will make it easy or not. The Bears have nothing to play for and will probably give everyday names the night off. Expect Sean Maguire to make his pro debut for the Pens this afternoon.

Last Game: Last night in Allentown the Pens won 2-1. Casey DeSmith stopped 26 shots and Jake Guentzel scored the go ahead goal in the third period to get the Pens the win… For Providence, the Bruins beat Springfield at home 3-1 on Wednesday. Jeremy Smith stopped 27 shots and co-Rooike of the Year Frank Vatrano had a goal, giving him 34 goals on the year in just 34 games played.

Last Meeting: March 26 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens lost 5-0. Nothing went right for Wilkes-Barre that night.

Record: For WBS 43-26-4-1 (91 pts. 2nd place Atlantic Division) — For PRO: 39-22-9-4 (91 pts., 3rd place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Battle for second place tonight in Wilkes-Barre and most likely a first round Calder Cup Playoff preview. The winner of this game will probably have the upper hand if these two teams meet again in a week to ten days in the playoffs.

Last Game: Sunday at home against Hershey, the Pens lost 5-3. Will O’Neill assisted on all three goals. For Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms were in Bridgeport Sunday and won 4-1. Taylor Leier had a goal and an assist and Anthony Stelar stopped 27 of 28 shots.

Last Meeting: April 8 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens lost 4-0. They put 40 shots on goaltender Martin Ouellette but were unable to buy a goal.

Record: For WBS: 42-26-4-1 (89 pts., 3rd place Atlantic Division) — For LV: 33-33-4-3 (73 pts., 7th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: The Penguins have clinched a playoff spot, but the question remains as to where the Penguins will start their fourteenth consecutive trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs. On the home or on the road? A win puts the Pens even with idle and second place Providence while a loss would completely extinguish any hopes of a division championship and digs the hole deeper as a two seed which guarantees home ice in the first round. A big contest against an already out of it Phantoms team awaits.

Last Game / Last MeetingLast night in Hershey, the Pens won 4-3. Dominik Simon scored two goals and Brian Foster stopped 21 of 24 shots as the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins sewed up their 14th consecutive trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs. Chris Bourque scored his 200th AHL goal for the Bears in the losing effort.

Record: For WBS: 42-25-4-1 (89 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division) — For HER: 40-20-5-7 (92 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: With playoffs already locked up for both teams, it’s all about the division title for these two teams. The Pens can inch closer with a win today while the Bears can make things very difficult for the Pens with a win of their own. Expect an intense game today.

Last Game: Last night at home against the Phantoms, the Pens lost 4-0. For Hershey, the Bears hosted the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and won 5-1. Aaron Ness was named first start of the game with a goal and two assists.

Last Meeting: March 20 in Hershey, the Penguins won 6-5 in overtime. Will O’Neill scored the overtime game winning goal for the Pens in the comeback win.

Record: For WBS: 41-25-4-1 (87 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division) — For HER: 40-19-5-7 (92 pts., 1st place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: The Penguins need to shake off the funk that has seen them lose three straight and see two opponents score hat tricks on them in the last three games. In order to do that, they need to do so in the den of their biggest rival. A win puts the Penguins in the Calder Cup Playoffs. Bears won’t make it easy.

Last Game: Sunday at home against Portland, the Pens lost 5-3. J-S Dea had a goal and an assist, Tom Kostopoulos had 2 assists. For Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms blanked St. John’s up in Newfoundland last Saturday 4-0. Martin Ouellette had a 31 save shutout. Colin McDonald and Cole Bardreau both had a goal and an assist in the win.

Last Meeting: March 9 in Allentown, the Penguins won 6-5 in overtime. Carter Rowney scored the game winning goal for the Pens in overtime. The Pens were down 3-1 at one point and later rattled off four straight goals to win.

Record: For WBS: 41-24-41 (87 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division) — For LV: 31-32-4-3 (69 pts., 7th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: The Phantoms have won four in a row coming into tonights contest against the Penguins. Two of those wins have come against some good teams in Hartford (a desperate team seeking a playoff berth) and Providence (a lethal team that can strike at any time) so the Penguins need to take the already eliminated Phantoms seriously if they want to punch their ticket to the Calder Cup Playoffs without help tonight.

Why you should care: Pens can lock up their fourteenth straight trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs with a win of any kind this afternoon against Portland. The Pirates are battling the Wolf Pack for the crossover spot to the North Division with Hartford and today is their game in hand on the Wolf Pack. You know they are going to bring everything they have at the Pens this afternoon.
