Last Game: Last night vs. Albany, the Pens were shutout 4-0. For Norfolk, they hosted Lehigh Valley in their final home game as an AHL franchise and won 4-2. Shea Theodore had a goal and an assist for second star honors.

Last Meeting: January 24 in Norfolk, the Penguins won in overtime 3-2. Tom Kostopoulos scored the game winning goal.

Record: For WBS: 43-24-3-4 (93 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For NOR: 27-38-6-4 (64 pts., 5th place East Division)

Why you should care: Penguins gave up the East Division Championship to Hershey last night but can still clinch home ice in round one with a win and a Syracuse loss. They battle a Norfolk team that will be emotionally drained after playing their final AHL home game in Virginia last night. The Admirals won’t be a pushover though as they will battle to the bitter end in their final game as an AHL franchise.

Last Game: Sunday in Portland, the Penguins won 3-1. Andrew Ebbett had a goal and an assist and Jeff Zakoff stopped 29 of 30 shots. For Albany, they hosted Syracuse Wednesday and won 6-2. Newcomer Matt Lorito had a goal and four assists for the Devils in the win.

Record: For WBS: 43-23-3-4 (93 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For ALB: 35-28-5-6 (81 pts., 4th place Northeast Division)

Why you should care: Expect the best from Albany tonight in a last ditch effort to save their season and make playoffs as an eight seed. On the other hand, expect the same from the already clinched Penguins in a last ditch effort to win the East Division. This should be an excellent game.

Last Game: Wednesday in Allentown vs. the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Penguins won 3-0 and punched their ticket to the Calder Cup Playoffs for the thirteenth season in a row. Matt Murray made 30 saves for his AHL leading 12th shutout of the season and Kasperi Kapanen made his AHL debut with a goal and an assist. For Portland, the Pirates were in Manchester last night and lost 3-2 in a shootout. Mike McKenna stopped 29 of 31 for third star honors.

Last Meeting: February 13 in Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins won 3-0. Matt Murray had a 23 save shutout.

Record: For WBS: 41-23-3-4 (89 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For POR: 37-25-7-2 (83 pts., 4th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: The Penguins sewed up the playoff spot Wednesday but they still have work to do if they want to enjoy home ice in the first round of the playoffs in a few weeks. Portland is going to give them a fight because the Pirates are fighting for their playoff lives also.

Last Game: Last night at home vs. the Worcester Sharks, the Pens lost 4-2. Tom Kuhnhackl assisted on both Penguins goals and was named third star of the game. For Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms were in Binghamton last night and won 4-3. Jason Akeson had a goal and two assists, good for third star honors.

Last Meeting: Last Saturday night in Allentown, the Penguins lost 4-1. Andrew Ebbett scored for Wilkes-Barre in the loss.

Record: For WBS: 39-23-3-4 (85 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For LV: 31-30-6-1 (69 pts., 3rd place East Division)

Why you should care: Penguins are looking to shake what it is that ails them when they play this Phantoms team. Lehigh Valley isn’t making playoffs this year but still give the Penguins fits whenever these two teams play.

Last Game: Wednesday at home against the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Penguins won 4-3. Jeff Zatkoff picked up the win, his first since February 28 and Brian Dumoulin had three assists in the win. For Worcester, the Sharks were in Hershey Wednesday and won 3-2 in a shootout. Aaron Dell made 36 saves, Matt Willows and Travis Oleksiuk scored in regulation.

Last Meeting: The Penguins were shutout 4-0 January 17 in Worcester. Troy Grosenick made 25 saves.

Record: For WBS: 39-22-3-4 (85 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For WOR: 38-23-4-2 (82 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Worcester comes in on a six game winning streak. They are just three points back of the Penguins for the 4 seed with a game in hand. A win tonight by the Penguins takes that out of the equation entirely but beware, these aren’t your uncles Worcester Sharks.
