Last Game: Saturday at home vs. Utica, the Pens won 1-0. Nick D’Agostino scored his first AHL goal for the Pens and Eric Hartzell made 22 saves to backstop the Pens to victory. For Worcester they were in Portland Saturday and lost to the Pirates 5-1. Rylan Schwartz scored the only goal for the Sharks in the loss.

Last Meeting: October 19 in Worcester, the Pens won 3-2. Tom Kuhnhackl had two goals for Wilkes-Barre and was named first star of the game.

Record: For WBS: 16-7-1-2 (35 pts., 1st place East Division) For WOR: 10-10-1-1 (22 pts., 5th place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Don’t underestimate these Sharks with this Wilkes-Barre lineup. I’d be willing to bet that Worcester is saying the same thing about the Penguins too, as this is a winnable game for both sides tonight.

Last Game: Last night at home vs. Hershey the Pens won 5-3. Tom Kostopoulous notched his 500th pro point and was named first star of the game also. For Utica, they hosted Binghamton last night and won 5-2. Colin Stuart had a hat trick for Utica in the victory.

Record: For WBS: 15-7-1-2 (33 pts., 1st place East Division) — For UTI: 7-14-1-1 (16 pts., 5th place North Division)

Why you should care: The Comets may be in the bottom third of the AHL hierarchy, but don’t let their record fool you. The Comets are a very good team on the road.

Last Game: Wednesday at home vs. Springfield, the Pens lost 3-2. Paul Thompson scored his first goal of the season for the Penguins in the loss. For Hershey, they were in Binghamton Wednesday and rallied late and beat the B-Sens 4-3 in a shootout. David Leggio stopped 39 of 42 shots and was named first star of the game.

Last Meeting: November 30 in Hershey, the Penguins lost in overtime 3-2. Mike Carman and Pierre Leblond scored for the Pens in the loss.

Record: For WBS: 14-7-1-2 (31 pts., 1st place East Division) For HER: 9-8-2-3 (23 pts., 5th place East Division)

Why you should care: Tough weekend ahead for the Penguins, who welcome the Hershey Bears for a Friday contest. The Pens are clinging to the top spot in the division barely, while the Bears are warming up and looking to get out of the division basement and beat their division rival.

Last Meeting: November 10 in Springfield, the Penguins allowed a late goal to ex-captain Ryan Craig and lost 4-3. Simon Despres had two goals for Wilkes-Barre in a losing effort.

Why you should care: A battle of division leaders Wednesday in Wilkes-Barre. It’ll be interesting to see the patchwork WBS lineup matchup against a Falcon team coming in at or near full capacity.

Why you should care: The Bears are rested post Thanksgiving, having not played last night. The Penguins are coming off of a 1-0 shutout at home vs. Binghamton last night. I get the feeling that the Penguins will need more than one goal to get by the Bears tonight.
