So you may be following me on Twitter during a game and be wondering what exactly “Money”  is. Or, who that guy is on the other team when I refer to someone by a name other than what is on your lineup card. Well, you have come to the right place as I have compiled a list of nicknames for you to refer to what I am talking about.

I will probably add to this list as we go on as the nicknames change and as we come up with others.

Nick Petersen – Petey
Brian Gibbons – Gibby
Color Analyst Mike O’Brien – Obie
Head Coach John Hynes – HCJH
Assistant Coach Alain Nasreddine – (Coach) Naz
Athletic Trainer Patrick Steidle – Steidle (this one is for twitter convenience for me, not really a nickname)

Sometimes you will hear me use nicknames for other teams we frequently see:

XC – Cross Checking Penalty
PxP – play by play
Green Flag Hockey – hockey played for an extended period of time without any whistles stopping play
PP – power play (obviously)
PK – penalty kill (duh)
5×4, 4×4, 5×3 – Five on four, Four on four, Five on three
MC – Misconduct Penalty
Bingo – Binghamton, NY
HT or Hattie – hat trick (I shouldn’t have to explain to you what a hat trick is)
ManchVegas – Manchester Monarchs of the Atlantic Division. Also referred to me as the Monarchs of ManchVegas.
Titletown – Binghamton, NY
The Champs / 11-time – The Hershey Bears
Salt City – Syracuse, NY
Hampton Roads – Norfolk, VA
Wormtown / The City of Seven Hills – Worcester, MA
