Chirps from Center Ice

Some news today from some of the other AHL East Division teams:

• The Charlotte Checkers agreed to terms today with Jacob Micflikier. Micflikier was listed seventh in Jonathan Bombulie’s list of “Top 10 Free Agents on AHL Contracts”.
• The Norfolk Admirals bolstered their blue line today signing Vladimir Mihalek, Mathieu Roy and Mike Vernace.
• Hershey is at it again. They signed goaltender Todd Ford, enforcer Joel Rechlicz and Ashton Rome. Here is more from Bears beat writer Tim Leone.
• In case you missed it, the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins signed Chris Collins yesterday and will be having a “Pensfest 2010” on August 20. Of all dates, it’s the one day I have a prior commitment and cannot be in attendance.
• The Syracuse Crunch revealed their new team jerseys today. I particularly like the black one.
