Last Game: Sunday at home vs. the Springfield Falcons, the Penguins won 5-3 in comeback fashion. Alex Grant had the game winning goal and was named first star. For Connecticut, Sunday they visited Bridgeport and lost in overtime to the Sound Tigers 4-3. Nine different Whale had a point.

Last Meeting: January 27 in Hartford the Penguins won in OT 3-2. Ex-Whale Jason Williams won the game for the Penguins in the extra session.

Record: For WBS: 39-22-2-5 (85 its,  3rd place East Division) — For CT: 33-23-6-5 (77 pts.,  2nd place Northeast Division)

Why you should care: Wilkes-Barre opens up the weekend on the road for a two game trip to the Northeast Division. Connecticut has been at the top of the Northeast for a good chunk of the season and always plays the Penguins tough. Pens will need to be on their game tonight if they want top walk out of the Insurance Capital with two points in their pocket. Oh, and they can also clinch a spot at the playoffs table with a win tonight as well.

Last Game: Last night at home vs. the St. John’s IceCaps, the Pens were shutout for the second night in a row 2-0. The Falcons were in Glens Falls vs. the Phantoms last night and lost 3-1. Nick Drazenovic had the lone goal for the Falcons in the loss.

Last Meeting: March 11 in Springfield, the Pens won a wild game 4-3 in a shootout which was Patrick Killeen’s first AHL win.

Record: 38-22-2-5 (83 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For SPR: 31-30-3-3 (68 pts., 3rd place Northeast Division)

Why you should care: Coach John Hynes told beat writer Jonathan Bombulie that Steve MacIntyre would play a game this weekend. Since he hasn’t yet, expect him to go tonight. Why is this important? The last time MacIntyre played in a game, he did this. The Penguins will be looking for a lot of things separate from MacIntyre from this game. As in a goal, a win and looking to inch closer to a playoff spot for the Spring.

Last Game: Last night the Pens were shutout 1-0. The IceCaps were in Syracuse and lost 5-4 in a shootout. Ex-WBS Penguin Jason DeSantis had a goal and and assist and was named third star of the game.

Last Meeting: March 6 in Wilkes-Barre the Pens lost 5-2. Simon Despres and Brian Gibbons had the goals for the Pens in the loss.

Why you should care: The Penguins need a better effort tonight quite simply. With a good St. John’s team who has lost four straight. Do the Pens catch the IceCaps slumping or do the IceCaps shake the funk and stun the Penguins?

Last Game: Last night vs. the Worcester Sharks, the Pens won 4-1. Alex Picrad had the first hat trick of the season fro the Penguins. For the B-Sens, they lost in overtime last night at home to the Rochester Americans 4-3. Goaltender Mike McKenna was named third star of the game.

Last Meeting: February 17 in Binghamton the Pens won 6-1. Alex Grant and Matt Rust both had two goals a piece in the win.

Record: For WBS: 37-20-2-5 (81 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For BNG: 25-34-3-2 (55 pts., 5th place East Division)

Why you should care: Penguins want to carry momentum from last nights great win over Worcester onward to a decisive win against a scrappy Binghamton team. If the Pens underestimate the last place B-Sens, they will lose.

Last Game: Wednesday in Norfolk the Pens lost 4-1. Bryan Lerg had the lone Penguins goal. For Worcester, last night they hosted the Providence Bruins and won 5-2. Five different Sharks scored goals in the win.

Last Meeting: November 20 in Worcester, the Pens lost 3-1. Eric Tangradi had a power play goal in the last minute of the game to ruin Tyson Sexsmith’s shutout.

Record: For WBS: 36-20-2-5 (79 pts., 2nd place East Division) For WOR: 27-23-4-7 (65 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Pens get some home cooking opening the first of a five game home stand. They’ve not been the best at home. Tonight is a televised sellout game too. Get the weekend started the right way by beating the Sharks.

Last Game: Sunday in Springfield, the Pens won in a shootout 4-3. Absent the Steve MacIntyre hijinks, Ryan Craig had a goal and an assist and was named second star of the game. For the Admirals, they won their fifteenth straight game defeating the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 6-3. Richard Panik had two goals and an assist and was named third star of the game.

Last Meeting: February 26 in Wilkes-Barre, the Admirals won 3-2. Ben Street had a goal.

Record: For WBS: 36-19-2-5 (79 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For NOR: 42-18-1-2 (87 pts., 1st place East Division)

Why you should care: The Admirals are the hottest team in the AHL. They are two games short of matching the all time AHL record for consecutive wins in a season. The Penguins are healthy at defense. They are the best AHL team on the road. This is going to be as playoff intense of a game you are going to find for March.
