Last Game: Last night at home, the Pens were shutout 2-0. For Syracuse, the Crunch lost in Hartford in overtime 3-2. Five different Crunch players recorded a point.

Last Meeting: November 15 in Wilkes-Barre, the Crunch won 3-2. Yanni Gourde had two goals for the Crunch.

Record: For WBS: 20-14-1-3 (44 pts., 1st place East Division) — For SYR: 22-9-5-0 (49 pts., 2nd place Northeast Division)

Why you should care: You’d think a team that has a 22-9-5-0 record would be a first place team, right? Not Syracuse. They play in the ever competitive Northeast Division where right now, the Springfield Falcons reign supreme. The Crunch are just three points behind the Falcons for the division lead and want to keep pace. Enter the Penguins who have lost three straight looking to salvage a weekend and stay ahead of the East Division for one more weekend. Expect a competitive contest.

Last Game: Saturday in Hershey, the Penguins lost to the Hershey Bears in a shootout, 2-1. Matia Marcantuoni scored his second goal in as many nights in the loss. For Norfolk, they hosted the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday and lost 3-2 in a shootout. Emerson Etem had a goal and an assist in the loss.

Last Meeting: December 28 in Wilkes-Barre, the Penguins won 2-1. Nick Drazenovic had a goal and an assist, good for first star honors.

Record: For WBS: 20-12-1-3 (44 pts., 1st place East Division) — For NOR: 12-19-1-2 (27 pts., 5th place East Division)

Why you should care: This Norfolk team is a better team than its record indicates. They have Emerson Etem and Dany Heatley with them on this trip, and those players can fill up the nets and help the Admirals disappoint the Penguins tonight.

Last Game / Last Meeting: Last night in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens beat the Binghamton Senators 5-0. Matt Murray had a 30 save shutout. For Hershey, they last played the Penguins in New Years Eve against the Pens in Wilkes-Barre and lost 2-0. Jeff Zatkoff had a 24 save shutout.

Record: For WBS: 20-12-1-2 (43 pts., 1st place East Division) — For HER: 16-12-4-1 (37 pts., 2nd place East Division)

Why you should care: Penguins can really put distance on the Bears tonight with a win. A regulation win would make it an eight point lead on the Bears and the rest of the division. But, it’s always easier said than done when it’s Hershey.
