Last Game: Saturday at home vs. Hartford, the Pens won 5-3. They exploded for three goals in the third period. Anton Zlobin had two goals and was named first star of the game. For Providence, they hosted Manchester on Sunday and lost 2-1. Zach Trotman had the only goal for the P-Bruins in the loss.

Record: For WBS: 22-11-1-3 (48 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For PRO: 20-13-1-5 (46 pts., 2nd place Atlantic Division)

Why you should care: Battle of two second place teams in their respective divisions that play the same type of stingy hockey. Penguins open the first of three straight on the road and this is the first of two against this Providence team. Should be a great test for both teams.

Why you should care: Penguins will have a golden opportunity to win a game tonight in front of what will likely be the first sellout crowd of the season against a Hartford team who isn’t the best this season. Hopefully, the Pens give the fans enough of a show to have them come back again, soon.

Who: Syracuse Crunch

Where: Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

When: 7:05 p.m.

Last Game: Sunday at home vs. Binghamton, the Pens won 4-1. Barry Goers and Zack Torquato both had a goal and an assist to aid the Penguins to the victory. For Syracuse, they played Binghamton on Saturday in Binghamton and lost 6-5 in overtime. Brett Connolly had two goals and an assist in the losing effort.

Last Meeting: December 31 in Wilkes-Barre, the Pens won 5-2. Five different Penguins scored goals and Jeff Deslauriers stopped all 21 shots faced in relief of Eric Hartzell.

Record: For WBS: 20-10-1-3 (44 pts., 2nd place East Division) — For SYR: 14-14-2-3 (33 pts., 5th place East Division)

Why you should care: The Crunch seem to still be a floundering, yet dangerous team. If the Penguins give a Manchester-like effort, they will likely lose. They will need a Binghamton-like effort if they want to take the two points home this evening.
